2025 Jul 20: Demigod-Slaying Spear
This one-of-a-kind magical spear is special not just because of the powerful enchantment it has, but because it is made entirely of steel - shaft and all. It is engraved with runes both sacred and demonic, and its point has a red tint that no amount of cleaning can get rid of. Otherwise it is almost offensively bare, with no decoration, or seemingly even thought given to its aesthetics.
As the name implies, the Demigod-Slaying Spear was forged for one purpose: to kill the offspring of gods, spirits and demons. Its maker, a smith named Nekar-Tash who lost everything in his life save for his forge, bled himself to death over it to empower its enchantment, and the royal sorcerers of Nashat-Ippur, who have studied it closely for four years after the city captured it in battle theorize that its ultimate goal is to kill full-bloodied deities, and that killing demigods is just a means to further empower it in service of that goal.
Whatever powers it may unlock in the future, currently the Spear has the power to damage any demigods as if they were mortals, even if they would otherwise only come to harm under specific conditions. It also subtly vibrates when people who share the blood of a deity are near. The less diluted the divine bloodline is, and the closer the person is, the more noticeable the vibration. The spear is also completely immune to any magic, and will offer some protection to its wielder as well. Some Mandies who claim to have wielded the Spear also claim that they could enter a sort of battle-trance while wielding it where the memories and martial skills of those killed by the spear became known to them.
The Spear is currently in the possession of a man named Wreator, who is one of the leaders of the heretical followers of Nitir-Tan. He publicly claims he will use it to free mortals from the shackles the gods placed on them.
