2025 May 16: Searing Vengeance

 Searing Vengeance is a holy artifact of Aol-Nae, reportedly made from her very essence. It is a long, staff-like weapon the likes of which have rarely been seen. Some parts resemble parts of Long Arms of Thunder, but the resemblance is superficial at best. It is made from materials never seen anywhere else, leaving no doubt about its divine origins.

It is activated much like a Long Arm, by pointing the thinner end towards something, then squeezing on a small part with the finger. Unlike a Long Arm however, the Searing Vengeance doesn't make much noise, nor does it fire small bits of metal. Upon activation, a short hum is heard. If the activator remains squeezed, a brilliant beam of light shoots out from the end of the artifact, destroying everything in its path by burning it to ashes.

Searing Vengeance is currently housed in the cathedral of Aol-Nae, in the Iron City of Morgonda, under the watchful eyes of the clergy, who wowed to only use it in the direst emergency. It is said that the artifact is watched over by the goddess herself as well, as if it were to be removed from its pedestal, her shrill voice would cry out endlessly, and the room would be bathed in sinister light the color of blood, until the Searing Vengeance was once again placed in its rightful place.
