2025 Apr 15: Long Arm of Thunder

 A Long Arm of Thunder is a strange magical device made of the highest quality steel, and often decorated by wood, brass, ivory and other precious materials. It looks like a strange piece of metal, with a handle, a rotating middle part, and a tube at the front. They are very rare, and usually only carried by some Machine Men, and extremely devoted followers of Aol-Nae. The device itself is operated by a small lever on the underside. When pulled the device summons the sound of thunder from the Heavens, and seemingly propels a small piece of metal forwards faster than the eye can see. This small piece of metal can strike anyone or anything standing in front of the tube of the device, and it can cause a wound as serious an a spear. It can also penetrate any armour that is not enchanted, and even magical armour can struggle to stop it.

A Long Arm of Thunder can do this six times before it needs to be refilled by new sacrificial offerings. These offerings consist of small metal tubes which have a strange alchemical mixture inside. If one came into the possession of a Long Arm, one would be wise to seek out the Machine Men, or the Iron City where such offerings can be obtained by means both legal and illegal.

2025 Mar 31: Old Man Death

  Old Man Death is the colloquial name of an huge and ancient dragon that lives near the eastern side of the mines of Caeledor . While the old beast is quite temperamental, he has been known to on occasion help the locals in exchange for vast amounts of gold and iron. This help comes usually in the form of him sniffing around for new tin deposits (he boasts that his nose can smell all sorts of metals, and judging by the fact that he can tell the grade and purity of metals offered to him without even looking), but he sometimes lets humans use his fire for melting metal. On at least one occasion he even used his gigantic claws to dig around for tin, but that came at such a gigantic price, that no.one has attempted to ask such a thing from him ever again.  Of course dealing with a dragon is never easy, but especially one as old and bad-tempered as Old Man Death. The Pale things are wretched creatures. Once humanoid, now their bodies are warped to animalistic, new forms. Some start to look like insects, some transform into something closer to a reptile, or even something unlike any other being. They stalk the forgotten places of the world, preying on the lost and foolish who happen upon them. They drain their victims of their blood, their white flesh flushing gem-like with red.
