2025 Jul 19: Keranos, the Boar-God
Ruler of the northern forests, and sovereign of all boars, Keranos is a respected deity of Caeledor, even if he isn't amongst the most powerful. According to legend it is he who digs spring out of the ground, and the Sorcerer-Kings of Caeledor trace their families back to him.
Besides being the bringer of spring, he is also able to grant unending vitality, and even immortality for a short period. According to Caeledorians the first horn was made from his tusk, so he is also the patron of music and dance. This is reflected in the royal houses of Caeledor, whose singing can magically influence people. They are also supernaturally talented with musical instruments, and some may even be able to heal the sick. The latter ability is actually a requirement for someone to ascend to the throne of Sorcerer-King, as it is believed to be a direct blessing from Keranos.
To his priests Keranos grants the ability to heal, to enchant, and to make things grow. They may also bless warriors to deliver one final strike after they're already dead on the battlefield.
Keranos is usually depicted as a giant white boar with four tusks, one of which is broken. His holy symbols are the golden acorn (symbolizing spring), the tusk-horn, and just boars in general. His holy day is the spring equinox, when large bonfires are lit in his name, and his priests turn into boars for one night.
